Anami : The recording with Dian

After completing a full 2 weeks of modules for the Sound and Color Healing course that Dian was facilitating in Alice Springs during June/July 2005, I was fortunate to be staying as a guest at her place before heading back to Geelong the next day.

I’m not sure who’s instrument started sounding first when Dian signaled that we should record what was about to happen.
So with hast, to not lose the sonic space that seemed to be hovering around us, Dian dug up a pair of stereo mic’s, an ADAT machine, battery’s to power it and the ADAT tape to record on.

What you hear here is that recording, how it was that day, birds and background, the winter sun in Alice Springs.
Slightly edited for smoothness and renamed ANAMI. For that was Dian’s way, the nameless way, the way she taught those who were lucky to have worked with her.

I can still feel and see the colors of her soul when I hear it,
The sound through her violin.
May it bring you light, hope and love.
With gratitude and in tribute to Dian
